About the Position
- An Animal Rehab Assistant position at Scuba Sam’s is essential to the care and rehabilitation of our patients. In a highly valued role at our facility, Animal Rehab Assistants help the Certified Canine Hydrotherapists provide top notch care to our patients, while maintaining a clean and productive work environment. As an Animal Rehab Assistant at Scuba Sam’s, you are part of a compassionate team that cultivates special relationships not just with the patients but with their families every day. Ideally, the person taking on this role will have an ambition to become a certified hyrdotherapist.
Requirements
- Must LOVE animals
- Exceptional patient care, customer service, and multitasking skills
- Possess a professional, friendly and courteous demeanor in every situation
- Adept at prioritizing tasks from multiple sources
- Friendly, outgoing, and people oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift at least 45 pounds
- Previous animal handling and/or veterinary experience preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Responsibilities
- Care for animals and patients
- Record patient information in medical records
- Assist hydrotherapists during treatments
- Help disabled patients to and from their cars as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of facility including laundry
- Administer baths
- Keep treatment room tidy
- Weekend flexibility
- Toe-grip fitting
- Hydrotherapy equipment and pool maintenance
- Participation in Fun Swims
- Train for Summus Laser Therapy Treatments
